Barbie Hsu rates Nicholas Tse’s kissing a zero

Thu Feb 11, 2010 3:56 am by Roxxar

Source : MediaCorp TV

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu has rated her Hot Summer Days co-star Nicholas Tse’s kissing a big, fat zero.

She didn’t manage to smooch him in the movie, though they played lovers, as Nicholas decided to give intimate scenes a miss, out of respect for his wife Cecilia Cheung.

The film’s promotional event in Shanghai saw 300 couples contesting their kissing skills, and also brought the movie’s ‘missing’ lip locks back into the spotlight.

Nicholas had requested to not kiss his co-star out of respect for his wife, so directors Tony Chan and Wing Shya manipulated camera angles to make the two leads look like they’re kissing.

At the Shanghai event, Nicholas reiterated his stance. “It wasn’t her (Cecilia), but my decision as I respect her.”

The actor, who’s the son of Patrick Tse, also talked about what he finds romantic.

Chow Yun-fat on having kids

Thu Feb 11, 2010 3:41 am by Roxxar

You've got to hand it to Chow Yun-fat when it comes to silencing the press with his wicked sense of humour.

Amid persistent rumours about his mum forcing the Confucius star to procreate at 55, and how the pressure to have an heir is making him seriously considering hiring a surrogate mum (his wife of 23 years, Jasmine, is already in her 50s too), the Hong Kong movie icon could still hold a light-hearted press conference in Taipei, where he declared his love for children.

But he insisted on not having them.

"I love kids, and I would love to have a child of my own," says Fat gor (brother Fat), as the actor is fondly known in the Chinese entertainment industry. "But I can't have a child -- not until the nosy Hong Kong paparazzi sign an agreement with me, assuring me that they will not tail my kid."

The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya film, the first ever film in the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise, opened on Saturday and earned in the range of 100 million yen (about US$1 million) in its first two days. In this Kyoto Animation film, chief director Tatsuya Ishihara and director Yasuhiro Takemoto adapted the fourth Haruhi Suzumiya light novel from Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito.

The film opened on only 24 screens, which led to long lines and high per-screen averages in box office receipts. The Mainichi Shimbun paper's Mantan Web site reported that about 500 fans stood in line early Saturday morning at Tokyo's Ikebukuro district to catch the first screening at 8:00 a.m.
